It’s Simple. We Make It Hard.

The sermon, riding with you all week

Day 5 · Friday · The Sermon

It’s Simple. We Make It Hard.

Four grown men. Ten o’clock at night. A rope wound into a jet ski motor, and the fix was one button the whole time.

That’s the sermon in one sentence: things truly are simple, we make it hard. And it’s as simple as Jesus saying come to me. But we won’t, and this week we looked our excuses in the eye. If you missed Sunday or you want the whole ride again, watch it here:

Talk It Over

On the porch, at the table, or on the Monday ride:

1The three excuses at the BBQ were land, oxen, and a new wife. Which one wears your brand, and what does it sound like when you say it?
2The same excuses that keep a man from coming to Jesus are the reasons the rest of us aren’t experiencing him. Where has that been true in your week?
3Once the supper starts, you’re either in or you’re out. What would answering the invite look like for you before next Sunday?
“And I’ll tell you this: not one of the men I first invited will get a taste of my supper.”Luke 14:24 · Simplified Cowboy Version
