Think about how a good rancher gives. If a man hands you his best horse, he’s not going to squabble with you over the halter. The big gift settles all the little questions.
Now run that math on God. He gave his Son. Not a nice sermon, not a warm feeling, his Son, handed over for you. That’s the best horse in heaven’s string. So when you catch yourself wondering if he’ll come through on the small stuff, the bills, the kids, the thing you can’t fix, you’re asking whether the God who already gave the most is going to get stingy over the least.
He’s not. That’s not how he gives.
Worry is really just a quiet little sermon we preach to ourselves that says God’s holding out. He isn’t. When God’s got you, he’s also got everything else too. The question was settled at the cross, and it doesn’t reopen every time your account runs low.
